A MEMORABLE EVENT COMING TO A STADIUM NEAR YOU

I know some of you remember when the Turkey Game packed Hughes stadium.  As a McClatchy kid, I was in awe of those football players, Tony Geremia, Johnny Pappa, Del Rasmussen etc.  As a student I roared for my fellow students Gus Gianulias, Frank Geremia, Larry Black etc.  I even remember a Dragon that ruined one of the games; a guy named Joe Ulm.  A scoreless game; 4th quarter; Dragons on McClatchy's 2 yard line; Ulm, the BMOC hasn't played - injury.  Timeout Dragons; Ulm's off the bench, running up and down the sidelines; 10,000 Dragon fans are going nuts.  He goes in. First play he's stuffed; 10,000 McClatchy fans go nuts.  Second play, he's at the half yard line - 20,000 people are going nuts now.  Third play TOUCHDOWN DRAGONS.

We are going to do this again.  I don't know whether we'll get a game like that but we are going to find out.  This is a chance for some of us to experience a game that used to be the athletic event of the year in Sacramento.  For those of you who never had the luck to see one of those games, November 10th at noon at Hughes Stadium is your chance.

Imagine the electricity in Hughes Stadium packed with 20,000 screaming people.  You know the effect this will have on the students and players.  They have never seen adult support like this nor have they experienced school pride of this magnitude.

They will never forget this event and they will never forget you for making it happen.

All proceeds after expenses will go to McClatchy and Sacramento High Schools.

The game will be held a Hughes stadium at 12 noon on Friday (Veterans Day observed) November 10, 2006.  Tickets are being sold for $25 each to benefit McClatchy High and Sacramento High's athletic program.  Frozen turkeys will be raffled at the game.  The ticket number is your raffle number.  Tickets sold at the ticket booths on game day will not be eligible for the raffle.

We want to sell tickets but we also want you there do this for the kids and do it for yourself; you are bound to see a lot of old friends.
